My Favorite Games
As a kid, I mainly played mobile games. My parents didn't approve of me playing games, so I tried to hide from them by playing on my phone. I played my fair share of computer games, but the majority were browser games. However, that changed when I entered college and started gaming on my computer a lot more. Here are some of my favorite games.
Clash of Clans: Arguably my most played game ever, I've played CoC since middle school. That was around 8 years ago, give or take. Insane that I've played so long considering I'm only town hall 13. Had a couple periods of very casual playing when my parents confiscated my tablet and I had to download an Android emulator on my laptop, but I've no doubt spent the most time on this game. My favorite thing about this game is that the minimum time investment is low. I can just collect loot and not attack and still progress if I want or I can join clan wars and do multiple attacks a day.
Soccer Manager: This is a pretty unknown game to most, but I think I have opened this game almost as many days as Clash of Clans. I first played this game on December 20th, 2013. The premise of this game is very simple. You manage soccer teams by setting their lineups for each match, and buying/selling players. Another very low-investment game, I merely have to update the lineup after each match in case my players get injured or are too tired to play the next match.
Maplestory: The first MMO I ever played, I played this game with my brother during elementary school. I still remember the game's download taking so long that my dad had to stay up after my brother and I went to bed to ensure it was installed correctly. Was never good at this game and never really got any characters to a high usable level, but will always love this game. Still download and play this game maybe once a year just for nostalgia.
Pokemon Go: I played casually for a year or so, but got back into it during quarantine as a way to make myself go for walks, as the nearest Pokestops were about 15 or 20 minutes away by walk. Ended up getting addicted for a year, and played the most during the first semester I was on campus in Atlanta for college. At home, the game isn't much, but in a major city with Pokestops everywhere, the game is insane. Had to quit cold turkey a little less than a year after getting addicted because I was playing it way too much.
Stardew Valley: Fell in love with this game after stumbling across it while browsing Reddit one day. With over 100 hours, I love the fact the game doesn't rush you and you are allowed to take as long as you want to finish any part of it. Unfortunately, my desire to play this game comes and goes. I'll play this game for a week and then not open it for the next two months.
Fortnite: Yes yes, make fun of me for playing it. But when I was interning remotely and doing nothing, I just played Fortnite all day. Good thing no builds became a thing because I was already doing that in builds because I don't know how to build. A friend and I played duos until we won a game that took us over 20 games, that's how bad we are. Luckily I'm pretty decent at no builds.
Honorable Mentions Poptropica: Lots of fun during elementary school. Still remember googling all the island guides because the islands were too hard. Played it again recently and just not the same.
Cool Math Games: Another game I played a lot of during elementary school. Rip flash.
